Live Reishi growing directly from the bag

This grow bag contains already growing, antler-shaped fruiting bodies of Ganoderma multipileum– the tropical relative of the Reishi (Antler Reishi). The antlers grow upwards in branched, antler-like shapes, reminiscent of coral. You are not receiving a dormant block, but a live, already growing culture.

Young, actively growing antlers are light (white to cream-colored) at the tips and reddish-brown towards the base; the more intense, lacquered red-gold coloration only develops with maturity. The product photos show the typical condition upon delivery – the appearance of each specimen may naturally vary.

What you get

A grow bag with antlers already growing (10–25 cm upon delivery). No waiting for primordia – the fruiting bodies have already formed. Shipped fresh and alive.

How to use it

  • Keep the bag closed at first:The antlers will continue to grow until they touch the inner wall of the bag.
  • Open the bag:As soon as the antlers touch the bag, make a cut at the top and open the bag.
  • Leave the block in the bag:Keep the lower substrate block inside the bag – this keeps the substrate moist.
  • Maintain high humidity (do not soak):Ensure a moist climate, e.g., by misting the inside of the bag lightly (preferably with boiled or distilled water). Avoid waterlogging directly on the fruiting bodies – standing water encourages mold/cross-contamination. No direct sunlight.
  • Let them grow:The antlers will slowly stretch upwards. Do not touch, just maintain the humidity.
  • Leave standing or harvest:Let them continue to grow as a live ornamental/decorative culture or cut them off to dry once the antlers reach 15–25 cm.

Good to know

The culture is already actively growing – unpack and set up as soon as possible after receipt. A primordia phase is not necessary, as the fruiting bodies have already formed. Thrives best at 18–24 °C.

• Harvest mushrooms just before they release their spores to reduce the spore load.
• Sensitive, allergic, or pre-existing individuals, as well as persons with constant exposure: Wear respiratory protection (FFP2/FFP3).
• Never consume contaminated or moldy cultures; dispose of the bag closed, ensuring spores are not stirred up or inhaled.
