The classic fruiting substrate – ready-made, sterile, ready to use
A bag with 4 L of pre-mixed CVG (coco coir + vermiculite + gypsum) – the popular mix for a fast, abundant first harvest flush. You inoculate with grain spawn and have your first harvest after 2–3 weeks.
What you get
4 L CVG mix, autoclaved in a filter bag with an inoculation port. Perfect field capacity (optimally hydrated), ready for inoculation.
What it is suitable for
CVG (coco coir · vermiculite · gypsum) is a low-nutrient, highly contamination-resistant fruiting substrate. It is ideally suited for coprophilous (dung-loving) species as well as for button mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus) and portobello – with a casing layer: Button mushrooms and portobello generally only fruit after you have applied a non-nutritive casing layer (e.g., coco coir or peat-lime casing). Without this casing layer, button mushrooms usually fail to fruit.
For oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus) and other wood/straw dwellers, a wood or straw substrate (e.g., Master's Mix) is the better choice – these mushrooms thrive more reliably on that than on pure CVG.
How to use it
1. Inoculation: Introduce 250–500 g of fully colonized grain spawn through a sterile cut and mix thoroughly.
2. Colonization (10–14 days): Store in the dark at 22–25 °C.
3. Induce fruiting: Open the bag, provide high humidity and fresh air. (For button mushroom/portobello, apply a casing layer beforehand.)
4. First mushrooms (7–14 days): Mist regularly.
5. Harvest & second flush: Keep moist after the first harvest – a second yield is possible.

Safety information
Safety notice: fungal spores (respiratory tract)
Mature mushrooms release spores. Inhaling larger amounts of spores can irritate the airways and lungs and, with repeated exposure, trigger allergic reactions up to extrinsic allergic alveolitis ("mushroom worker's lung").
• Let them fruit in well-ventilated rooms; do not set them up in bedrooms or rooms where people spend long periods.
• Harvest mushrooms shortly before they release their spores, to reduce the spore load.
• Sensitive or allergic people, people with pre-existing conditions and anyone with continuous exposure: wear respiratory protection (FFP2/FFP3).
• Never eat contaminated or mouldy cultures; dispose of the bag closed, without stirring up or inhaling spores.
Right of withdrawal Sealed goods for hygiene reasons: The right of withdrawal expires once the seal has been removed or the injection port has been opened (§ 312g para. 2 no. 3 BGB). Details can be found in § 6 of the General Terms and Conditions.
