We grew these shiitake ourselves at our mushroom farm in Erlangen and then dried them. The bag holds only the mushroom, nothing else. Dried shiitake tastes stronger than fresh.

How to use it

Soak the mushrooms in warm water for 20–30 minutes until soft. Keep the soaking water: it makes a rich stock for soup, ramen, risotto or sauce. Then slice the mushrooms and fry or cook them with the dish.

Important: eat shiitake only when thoroughly cooked, never raw.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry, dark place. Close the zip tightly after opening. Best before: see label.
